Deep Fried Angel Fish

The band Deep Fried Angel Fish is a quartet of catfishes who serve tasty dishes of music to hungry audiences. The music they cook up is a steaming gumbo of improvised jazz, Klezmer, Balkan and Latin American styles. Stirring together fresh melodies with home made grooves, each of these four musical fruits prepares home made tunes for the band, often with a spicy edge. Natural ingredients of the Amsterdam Klezmer Band, Man Bites Dog and Dalgoo are grilled together with grooves which get boiling hot.
The chefs are trumpetist Gijs Levelt (Amsterdam Klezmer Band, Karnatic Lab and Hexnut), accordionist Theo van Tol (Amsterdam Klezmer Band and best accordionist in the Holland), sax and bass clarinetist Tobias Klein (Man Bites Dog, Bhedam and Dalgoo) and bassist Meinrad Kneer (Dalgoo, Jur Naessens-prijs winner 2002).
